Join God’s Pantry Food Bank and your nonprofit colleagues for the Lexington Regional Public Policy Forum. We’ll discuss the public policy issues facing nonprofits – sales tax, charitable giving and more; share action steps for getting engaged to protect and advance our sector and your organization’s ability to accomplish its mission; and provide public policy tools and resources to assist you.
The Regional Public Policy Forum is your opportunity to share and learn about the public policy issues facing nonprofits in your region and across the state and nation.
- *Food Pantry in La Grange
A Little Food Pantry outside of the La Grange Community Center will be available to the public. Anyone can take and/or bring food at anytime of the day!

- *Food Drive Dec 1st-21st
Newcut Salon will be hosting a food drive beginning Dec 1st. Non-perishable food items and cash donations are greatly appreciated. All proceeds raised will be going to community organizations.

- *Basket Brigade
On November 10, more than 400 participants will assemble over 5,300 Thanksgiving boxes of dinner fixin’s which are distributed, along with a turkey, to Fayette County families in need through the Sharing Thanksgiving program. This year, God’s Pantry Food Bank is excited to offer the Sharing Thanksgiving program through our Regional Distribution Centers in London, Morehead, and Prestonsburg for the first time!

- *The 2nd Annual Mac & Cheese Festival
The MAC is back! Tri-State Food Bank will again be hosting its Mac & Cheese Festival on Saturday, November 3, 2018, from 4–7pm CST at Tri-State Food Bank , located at 801 E. Michigan Street.
Last year’s Mac & Cheese Festival raised over $16,500 to aid Tri-State area food insecure residents by showcasing both amateur and professional chefs in a head to head competition for the best Mac & Cheese recipe in the Tri-State area.
- *5th Annual Taste of Southeast Kentucky
Gather your friends for a fun night at the London Community Center for the fifth annual Taste of Southeast Kentucky, presented by Walmart. Enjoy tasting wonderful food and sipping your favorite drinks from over 20 food and beverage purveyors. Live entertainment by Kites will help set a fun and festive mood, and the silent auction returns with lots of amazing items. And this year we’re excited to introduce a live auction! Foxhollow Farm’s 11th Annual Fall Festival is an event with farm activities for the whole family. Taking place on Saturday, October 13th from 10am-6pm at the farm, located at 8905 HWY 329 in Crestwood, KY. Experience a beautiful day on the farm spent enjoying the crisp air, old-fashioned carnival games, hayrides and more. Thousands of rubber ducks will go for a swim in the Ohio River Labor Day weekend. Their mission: to help feed hungry kids in our community.
It is almost time for the Freestore Foodbank’s Rubber Duck Regatta presented by Dawn. As many as 200,000 rubber ducks will dive from the Purple People Bridge on Sunday, September 2. It all gets underway before the Western & Southern/ 102.7 WEBN Fireworks.
Ducks are available for purchase online at www.rubberduckregatta.org, by phone at (513) 929-DUCK (3825) at the check-out of your neighborhood Kroger (beginning Monday, July 16) and at all local KEMBA Credit Union locations (beginning Friday, July 20).
Each duck purchase comes with a chance of winning several different prizes. The first prize winner will receive a Honda Accord, courtesy of Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky Honda Dealers, and possibly $1 million, if their duck is the “KEMBA Million Dollar Duck.” The second prize winner will receive $100 from Kroger every week for a year ($5,200 total), and five additional winners will receive $500 cash from Kemba Credit Union.
The ducks swim with a purpose. 100% of proceeds from duck sales help to support the Freestore Foodbank’s efforts to serve hungry children in the community.
Nearly 83,000 children in our Tri-State area may not know where they will find their next meal. Hunger affects a child’s ability to learn and perform well at school. Through programs like Power Pack, Kids Cafe and Summer Feeding, the Freestore Foodbank provides more meals to children at times when they are most at risk of hunger.
Last year’s Rubber Duck Regatta netted more than $1 million. Since its inception in 1995, the event has raised more than $11 million dollars. That is the equivalent of more than 33 million meals for hungry children and families in our community.
Ducks are $5 each or six for $25.
- *Italiano! Italian Festival
Saturday, August 18th at 11AM – 6PM in Huntington, WV between 8th and 10th streets on 4th Avenue.
Focus is on all things Italian-food, music, colors, FUN. Festival admission is free.

VIP/Sponsor Event takes place Friday, August 3rd at Blacksheep Harley Davidson (408 4th St, Hungtington WV) and will include the popular Meatball cook-off, 2018 honorees, silent auction items, great food and more! Tickets for this event are $50.00

- *Golf Fore the Hungry
SWING on over for a Golf PAR-TEE! The 15th annual Golf Fore the Hungry kicks off Sunday, August 19th at 6:00 p.m. with dinner at Manchester Music Hall. We’ll have live and silent auctions and our special guest speaker is none other than Kentucky Sports Radio’s Matt Jones!
On Monday, August 20th, the GFTH scramble, held at the University Club of Kentucky, starts at 11:30 with registration and lunch and a 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. Tons of fun is planned at the scramble, including:
